PROGRAM INFORMATION:
The Ellsworth Swimming Pool is a provider for The American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim program. The Learn-to-Swim program starts with the most basic swim skills and advances through a logical six level progression. There is instruction for all ages and abilities to help improve water skills. The objective is to teach individuals to swim and be safe in, on, and around the water. The skills are categorized by water entry, breath control and underwater swimming, buoyancy, changing direction/position, treading water, and swimming on front, back, and side.

*If we have to cancel due to weather, Fridays are the make-up days. If you are unsure of your child's swim level please contact the Ellsworth Recreation Department at 785-472-4123.
EQUIPMENT:
Goggles without nose piece coverings are recommended for Levels 3-6, but not required. Please bring a towel.
REGISTRATION INFORMATION:
Registration is FREE to the first 125 participants that RESIDE IN THE CITY OF ELLSWORTH. This is due to a very generous donation from the Horst-Reiter Foundation. This is on a first come first serve basis and applies to one session per participant. If a participant wants to partake in multiple sessions, then each subsequent session would be $30.00. The registration fee for individuals who RESIDE OUTSIDE THE CITY OF ELLSWORTH or for any registration after the 125 scholarships have been met is $30.00. Each level will be limited to 12-15 participants.
PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS:
Private swim lessons are available to any interested individual at an additional fee of $50.00. They consist of 5 sessions lasting 30 minutes per session.
